The vacation that never ends...

Well the first stop on our incredible vacation was Mesa, Arizona. We had a blast. We went fishing with grandpa, played with all of our nieces and nephews, got to watch the Suns play their last game of the season, and went to Becca's wedding.

Then, we were off to Las Vegas with Jim. What an adventure. We stayed at the Bellagio with him, explored the city, and ate ourselves sick. Then, Price is Right! We didn't "COME ON DOWN!" But we did have a blast, and we were in the second row. The show airs the 22nd, so pay attention!

Lastly, Disneyland! Enough said!

Graduation

As of the 20th of April we both are now officially college graduates! Oh ya! The ceremony was incredibly long, but both sets of parents were there, and mine actually ended up sitting in the row right behind us, just a couple seats down. We loved seeing our families and we love not having homework to do (for now anyways.) We celebrated by leaving on an incredibly long, but very fun vacation with each of our families.

Seniors

Its hard to believe that Matt and I are actually about to graduate from BYU. Its weird to think about because for the last four years this is all we have known. Its become a part of my life, a significant part, because of all the wonderful, amazing, and life-changing things that have happened while I have been here. I don't know if it has fully sunk in how we will be leaving here VERY soon, and never coming back. We talk all the time about how we hate Utah, about how nobody (NOBODY) here knows how to drive a car, people suck, and it snows 98% of the year. But behind all of the jokes, we actually have liked it here. BYU has been good to us (we found each other here!) We have an incredibly good education and we have been really blessed in our time here. Exercise Science is the best major ever and I honestly wish I could study it forever and just keep learning. I wouldn't change it for anything!

So in the spirit of Senior-ness, we went to a senior celebration graduation party and it was awesome. There was a booth that you got in and papers flew all around and you tried to grab them and you looked like a fool, but possibly won prizes. So awesome. There were darts, wheels to spins, games to play, free bowling, pizza, burgers, ice cream, and prizes! We won like 3 shirts, 2 pairs of sunglasses, and a TON of candy. Oh, and a BYU mug. I was so mad that I forgot to bring my camera, but then there was a PHOTOBOOTH! Oh ya!

In the first picture we used the awesome props that they had there for us. I'm embarrassed to admit that Matt picked out the glasses first. And also he wanted me to use the moustache...no thank you. In the second one we just wanted a good smile, and then the third was apparently Matthew's "sexy face," I was laughing SOO hard during that. And then a kissy picture. Because we love each other! Anyways, thanks to BYU for an awesome night of free entertainment and sweet prizes. It was a great time.

DIY Girly Girly Dress

I've been doing some more DIY'ing and this time I found this hideously ugly pink skirt at DI and couldn't help myself. I started making it into a cute skirt, cut off about 10 inches of material, added a big waistband and some buttons so I could get in and out of it, and then to just make it the girliest piece of clothing I own, a huge cream colored bow! I thought I'd try making it into a bubble skirt and I'd say it was fairly successful for my first attempt, and only one of my first attempts at sewing. You've got to learn somehow right? :)

I don't have a before unfortunately, but here are the afters.

Valentine's Day

Well this Valentine's Day didn't exactly go as we would have hoped. This week in school was the week that everyone dreads. Its like when the football team starts practicing and they have one week where they have to practice three times a day with no food or water or rest. That was us this week, studying for three exams a day, with no food and no bathroom breaks. And no sanity. We didn't do a single dish the entire week. We almost had to resort to eating cereal (pretty much the only thing we ate all week) out of Tupperware and mugs. We ran out of food. We ran out of clean clothes. I wish I was joking and that I was that wife that keeps a perfectly clean house despite the circumstances but I am WAY too much of a stress case when it comes to school. Its silly because my grades basically don't matter since I'll just be getting my teaching credentials, yet, I can't stand the thought of not getting A's on my exams. So we studied all week. We didn't even watch The Biggest Loser until all the exams were taken (that's devotion). And all was well. We dominated. Oh ya, schmidt happened this week at BYU. We are so smart. Anyways, our Valentines Day was fairly uneventful. We only got to spend about four hours together, and two of those were spent taking an anatomy exam with the cadavers. Yes, we spent Valentine's Day with dead bodies, labeling their nerves and then learning all the musculature of the lower extremities and pelvic cavity. On the bright side, we did get to go to the movies together! We saw the Vow, which was pretty cute and made me cry for a long time. I never used to cry during movies. I think I've started crying ever since getting married because I can actually imagine how horrible it would be if Matt were to just randomly forget everything that we have together. Unbearable. But we splurged and got super buttery popcorn (and soda, what?!) and watched our movie. Then...back to the books! Oh, I almost forgot, Matthew got me Just Dance 3 for the Xbox Kinect, which is awesome and so hilarious. And he got a book all about freshwater fishing, his new obsession. He hasn't stopped reading it since the last exam ended. I'm so glad my husband has a little redneck in him too :) He is the perfect Valentine.

Oh The Weather Outside is Frightful.

I woke up this morning to snow coming down. I was like "Seriously, Utah? Seriously?" I hate snow. I grew up my whole childhood in Minnesota, I should love the snow. Maybe it was all those mornings waiting for the school bus in the blizzards and 5 feet of snow that made me hate it. Maybe it was watching my grandma get stuck walking over to our house while holding one of my siblings when they were a baby (though that was pretty funny). Maybe its just the fact that I'm always cold, and snow=cold. I can't exactly pin down where my dislike of snow comes from, but I'm just hoping that eventually life leads us to somewhere warmer than Utah...

During my very long (although in reality it is very short) walk to campus this morning in the freezing, I was reminiscing back to a much warmer, much less stressful, much more fun time. The honeymoon.

I was thinking about when Matthew and me were in Cancun over the summer and trying to imagine what the warm sand felt like beneath my toes... the incredible animals and sights...

How nice it would be if we could just not think about organic chemistry, cadavers, orthopedic impairments, work, physics, the never-ending dishes that always seem to be in the sink...
Cancun. The most beautiful place I have ever been. One day we will go back and visit you again.
School out here wouldn't be nearly as difficult if only Utah looked and felt a little bit more like Cancun. Except, if it did, I doubt I would spend much time inside the classroom. Plus, I'm pretty sure the university would be much more popular if that was the case.
